The fire station at 2105 East Franklin Avenue opened March 5, 1884. It was located at the Southeast corner of East Franklin Avenue and 21st Avenue South; the doors opened facing North. Called Station I (with Hose 7 and Steamer 5) until May 8, 1887 when it became known as Engine 7. On January 12, 1891 the department reorganized and it then became MFD Station 7. On October 8, 1935 Engine 7 temporarily moved to MFD Station 5 during construction of the new MFD Station 7 out of the old Veterinarian Infirmary building at 2011 21st Avenue South. 2105 East Franklin Avenue is currently a parking lot.
