William and Mary Ann Watson immigrated from Scotland. They built this house and eventually had two children, William Ernest and Mable. William became the first Superintendent of what was then the new Richfield Post Office. Ernest became a dentist in Minneapolis and Mable a nurse. Mable never married and lived in the house until the early 1970's.
