Bio: Joseph G. Metzler was born into a family of residential builders. From an early age Joe and his younger brother Steve, picked up scrap wood on the job and otherwise tried to help their father. Eventually Joe and Steve learned carpentry skills and the craft of home building. Joseph is now an architect, and principal of SALA Architects in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His work has been published in numerous periodicals and books including The Not So Big House, Dream Homes Minnesota, The New Bungalow Kitchen, Along Bungalow Lines, Bungalow Style, and Planning Your Addition. He is registered as an architect in MN and WI and is a MN certified interior designer. He is also NCARB certified and a LEED Accredited Professional. Joe is also currently a member of the Minnesota Governor’s Residence Council.
