Looking north on Payne Avenue, the large imposing building on the left was the Payne Avenue State Bank. It was constructed in the Beaux Arts style which was a style that was particularly popular in Minnesota for public buildings and banks and was largely introduced to the state by architect Cass Gilbert who designed the Minnesota State Capitol.
Memories and stories
Memory
This is on the corner of Payne and Case. It's where I opened my very first savings account and in turn received as a gift, a Liberace 78 RPM recording, which I still have.
