This is a Victorian style house which has had significant alterations.

Some significant details include "complex massing with wide two story projecting entrance bay beneath gable end on main facade. Second story of this bay has decorative wood shingles, a band of wood panelling, and a fixed Queen Anne style window. Gable returns and modified semi-circular window in gable end. East corner of main facade has a bracketed second story projecting over a canted first story. West side of main facade has a steeply pitched gabled roofline supported by paired brackets, with a small, clapboard-filled window with ornate frame."

The legal description is "East part of Lot 1, Block 14, College Place East Division"

"A large and once picturesque and ornate woodframe house which is one of the oldest in this area. Unfortunately, the house has been butchered by insensitive alterations and is in only fair condition."

History

"This house, originally accompanied by a barn built at the time, was originally owned and occupied by Mason M. Flint, a furniture manufacturer. The house and barn were built for an estimated $5,000. According to the building permit, the 34'x22' foot barn was also partially owned by Walter, Allie, and Jasper B. Hewitt."
