History

Elected to his first union office at age 15, Priferl was a leader of the Furrier's Union and later the Teamsters. Born in the Tyrol region of Austria in 1905, he moved to St. Paul soon afterwards. He represented the Rice St. area in the Legislature for 34 years, retiring in 1972. He died in 1997.
