"Clara M. Lynn, the owner, is the widow of John Lynn, who died ca. 1886. This house is one of a number of Shingle Style and Queen Anne wood frame houses in this area which date from the development of Burlington Heights, a commuter suburb serviced originally by two railroad lines which carried commuters into nearby downtown St. Paul to work, and home again to the rustic wooded bluffs of their country homes. This house may have been designed by Charles E. Joy, a local architect who designed several of the most interesting Victorian houses still standing in the area."
