Significant details: "Low-lying brick and cast concrete building with narrow rectangular windows arranged in horizontal bands and separated by narrow projecting strips of concrete. Glass and steel entrance."

Historical background: "The Bush Memorial Library was constructed in 1970 at and estimated cost of $1,760,000. It was dedicated to the Archibald Granville Bush (1888-1966), one of the founders of Minnesota, Mining, and Manufacturing (3M) and a Chairman of the 3M Executive Committee. He was given an honorary Doctor of Law degree by Hamline University in 1956."
Statement of significance: "A sleek and functional library building designed by Hammel, Green, and Abrahamson, architects of several other buildings on the Hamline University campus."
