Bridal Veil Falls flows from a (mostly) underground stream, cascading over rock before reaching the Mississippi River. Located on the Mississippi River Gorge, it can be viewed from above looking down over the protective rail along East River Parkway, or can be viewed looking up from the path below. It is somewhat hidden by the river bridge and roadway, and is easy to miss if you are not aware it is there. The road and bridge over the falls were rebuilt in 2006. Unfortunately, the new surface on the bridge seems to encourage graffiti near the falls. In times past, long before urban infrastructure obscured the falls, this was a favorite place to picnic.
