Bloomfield, Richfield, Minnesota

Bloomfield, was located at were I-494 and Nicollet Avenue is. It never was truly a town in the legal sense but had enough of an identity that it appears on maps from the 1800's. The name more than likely comes from combining the then townships of Bloomington and Richfield. A nice political compromise for the businesses and the church in the area. The only thing left from that era is the cemetery to Assumption Church.
