This house was built for $9,000 in 1892. Its original owner was Frederick Stewart Bryant who was born in 1859. He was the president of the St. Paul Apartment House Company. He served as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1896, as state secretary of the Minnesota Republican League from 1900-1906 and was a member of the Society of Colonial Wars and Sons of the Revolution. He lived at 433 W. Portland Avenue.

A huge Victorian mansion which because of its tower and facade resembles and complements the nearby Frank B. Kellogg House.[1]
