Notes: House sits with gable ends perpendicular to the street. Applied stickwork. Shingles on projecting gable. Open porch with unusual heavy timber supports. Transom over door. Many Queen Anne windows. Rounded arched attic window in projecting gable end on main facade.


The original owner of this house, which was built for $2,450, was Mrs. Ellen Gillette, the widow of Albert J. Gillette. She lived in house which was designed by English born St. Paul architect Walter Ife. This is one of a number of late 19th century within this area yet its design is far more ornate, and much more intact than most of the others.
