"The original owner of this house was Mathias J. Klein who resided nearby at 1342 W. Minnehaha Avenue. Klein was employed as a foreman for Koehler and Hinrics, Inc., a Lowertown firm which dealt in wholesale groceries, and was a supplier of hotel furnishings, bowling alley equipment, etc. A small, attractive bungalow with pendants and half-timbering."
